Good. All these 155-157 fights for the MW title are getting beyond a joke.

To be honest, if Golovkin agreed to the catch-weight (although 'you come down 5 pounds, il fight at my recent usual fighting weight' isn't much of what you would call catch-weight.) ; I still think if that was agreed upon, Canelo would throw another spanner in the works.
I can't see Cotto or Canelo taking the fight either way.

I don't. I've never seen Canelo lie like GGG has!

Reality is that both canelo n coto are better draws than ggg, so whoever wins will dictate the terms, ggg team can ***** n complain but the fight will be at the winner of this fight terms, if.......

I want to see the fight but GGG has literally no leverage.
Canelo can fight Antonio Margacheato on Cinco de Mayo and make just as much if not more money than fighting GGG. Canelo did decent, not great, numbers against a no name in Lara in a non title bout. GGG doesn't even do half that in a unification fight at MSG.
WBC can strip Canelo if they want after the Cotto fight, he would still be lineal champ and they wouldn't get a sanctioning fee for his next fight. I doubt that ever happens.

Lets see would you want a % of the Cotto/Alvererz PPV rematch???

            Or

            The % of a GGG/Johnson/Lee PPV fight?

One probably does 1mil - 1.5 PPV buys (Especially if the 1st fight is awesome).

            Or 100K-200K...

GGG wanted Ward to come down why cant he

GGG wanted Ward to come down and take a low ball offer because he said he wasn't a draw. GGG just did 152K buys which show he doesn't have PPV power yet. So I think he'll come down to fight Cotto or Canelo because he's still way bigger naturally and it'll be his biggest pay day ever.

so how is 155 a duck or putting him at disadvantage?

and boxing has always been A and B sides. hagler had to let leonard pick the ring size and how many rounds the fight would be.

hopkins at 39 dropped to 156 for oscar.
floyd had to let oscar pick the weight, ring and gloves.

triple g wants star status, he needs to do what the B sides always do.

I forgot that DLH made Hopkins fight at a catchweight. I think Hopkins was contracted to come in under 159. He went all the way down to 156 to make a point. I think catchweights are for sissies, BUT GGG will need to make a concession in order to get Canelo in the ring.

If the fight isn't 160, I think both should just move on. I still think GGG knocks out both Cotto and Canelo at 155lbs. A lot of these fighters are becoming fixed on making things difficult to fight each other (negotiations), attempting to fight at the minimum weight (in the class) instead of just fighting at the full limit.

Little G likes to throw around the idea that he is the A-side when it comes to Andre Ward and that he can make catchweight demands because of it.

Well, with Canelo he is going to find out what a real A-side is. He isn't going to call any shots there and it will be the Mexican's way or the highway.

If GGG doesn't like it then he can just pick up the WBC belt from a trash can instead of earning it in the ring. I'm sure his fans will be proud of that as it would be right in line with the rest of his unimpressive resume that they hype up so much.

Getting a proud Mexican cash cow like Canelo to forfeit the belt is better than nothing. 3 belts, move on
