  • Comments Thread For: Broner's Coach Denies Training Switch To Freddie Roach

The internet was buzzing when Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach posted a photo on the social networks which displayed an unexpected visitor to the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood - WBA junior welterweight champion Adrien Broner (31-2, 23 KOs).

Speculation began that Broner was jumping ship to Roach's vast stable of fighters.

Definitely no reason to believe this. Broner's too hardheaded; wouldn't listen, and Roach wouldn't even know how to train him.

Broner being a young fighter would get much better with Roach

Broner would take his skill-set to another level under Roach...

Perfect trainer for him...that Floyd-shoulder roll sht is not for him...

Broner would get that Cotto-boost under Roach...

I bet it doesn't happen though...

Be honest with you that would be a dope move by AB, Roach likes Broner and Rashee Warren, Roach used to train Raushee for a year when he was doing that LA boxing AIBA whatever that stuff was before turning pro.

Roach would also help with Broner image, the american casual fans love Roach and if Roach vouches for Broner they will like him, Roach is like that one dude who can talk **** and people still like him and feel sorry for him. Go to Hollywood and celebs love Roach they always call him an inspiration even though Roach is one of the meanest mofos around.

Only problem is roach health is deteriorating and Somodio does the majority of the mittwork.

But if you think about it Roach and Broner would have been a great mix, both of them talk mad **** and Broner is at his deadliest when he is offensive.

I strongly disagree with you all that think roach could improve AB. AB's problem is not offense. His problem is defense. He does not know how to move his feet when fighters pressure him.
Roach as a fighter was all offense and he is the same as a trainer. There's nothing he can do for AB in my opinion.

Thatd be a good move by Broner. Dude would shoot through the roof skillwise..at the speed oppositionwise Staffords doing a decnt job though with Broner...he can be better though with that speed and those reflexes

Would be the smartest thing Broner has ever done, if he is serious about his career now. Roach could do amazing things with that kind of talent.

Umm yes, because Pac doesn't use footwork lol...go watch Pacquiao v. De La Hoya and Pac v. Rios...

I think Broner has the same problem Cotto was having..he was worrying too much about trying to emulate a style rather than just using what he does best..

Broner throws quick pinpoint shots... Roach will get him on his feet doing that..

Broner in the Porter fight was holding back because he was trying to be overly defensive...
