GGG had The Legend Bernard Hopkins knocking on his door, almost begging for a fight. (I really wanted to see that fight and that would have put GGG status resume-wise a lot higher)

I feel that fight would have done nothing for Golovkin after Hopkins got literally SCHOOLED by Kovalev. In fact, while GGG wouldn't win as cleanly, that fight exposed so many holes in B-Hop's strategy that GGG would exploit with more power than Kovalev did. Definitely a stoppage on that one.
