So it's back to regular HBO. Good. But what's funny is that Loeffler came out and said 200k would be needed to make it a success, and that was lowballing. The 150k numbers come out and people are still trying to say it's not bad. Yes it's bad. Loeffler said 200k makes it a success, it didn't reach that so it's a failure. Now word is coming out that it's having trouble reaching 125k, they're trending toward Mosley/Mayorga numbers now. But the same people trying to spin it as a success are the same ones who were reading CBS financial statement upside down claiming Floyd was the reason CBS lost money, despite Espinosa telling everybody they made money on the Floyd deal.

Pac did 250k with Algieri, right..... and 400k with Rios ?

Pacquiao was extremely well established at that stage, a huge star really.

I dont know, 150k doesn't sound too bad, tough times and all ?

Ward is a massive SMW and Golovkin is a natural MW, cant see this fight happening unless GGG is gonna bulk up. GGG is at he wrong weight at the wrong time, MW is dead. The only reason they were gonna move up for froch is that they thought GGG could out box him.

No it won't. He needs Cotto or Canelo.

But at 160, Golovkins defining moment is the Cotto/Canelo winner.

If he denies the winner a reasonable catchweight, knowing that the winner will be stripped.... then Golovkin will have denied himself his defining moment at 160 just like he did at 168.

              I hope not.

Team Golovkin appear to want every advantage, and they appear unwilling to take any type of risk. It would be a pity it that fight fell through because Golovkin wanted to take the easy way out again.
seriously, what the hell is wing with wanting to fight for a 160 title AT 160... boxers thinking they should be able to continue holding titles at weights they've never once fought at. if they want come in light, that's on them, the title is for 160, nothing more to be said!

Exactly. For a debut, and the fact that people continuously say that the sport is dying, that's a pretty legit buy rate as far as I'm concerned. His first time out as a PPV headliner resulted in him putting up numbers comparable to established stars. Cotto or Canelo will make him a star should he beat either of them. I'm picking Cotto to do the impossible though.
