Triple G Leads a new crop of champions

As it seems by his dominance of his division and the lack of interest of other big names to face him I would have to say that Golovkin is leading the way for the latest era of boxing champions. Consider that the previous era is either retired: Mayweather, DelaHoya, Trinidad, Martinez, Margarito, Barrera, Morales - (Mosley, Hopkins, Jones Should retire) or about to retire Cotto, Pacquiao, Marquez, Klitschko; that would leave the mantle to Golovkin. He has the personality, the boxing skills and the devastating power to become the number 1 PPV attraction in Boxing.

Let me know what you think and who you think is or should be the number one draw in boxing in this new era?

Not unless the rules change to allow boxers to fight like billygoats.

Without Cotto or Canelo, GGG won't even accumulate PPV fantasy. Elite boxers are very political and bureaucratic, especially the ones that had to try, for many years, to be the A side and call the shots. Since it's a business, and every boxer is for themselves, there's no need to hype up another boxer. Why give the attention away? In other words, this is the theory as to why K2 didn't want to move GGG up to fight Ward, because Ward would destroy GGG's whole image and the value drops significantly. It's always a paradox.

if he tries that in the future (kovalev), this would be the result.

Good for Kovalev to have fought Hopkins before Ward.
