    Competitive fight.

I think Barrera will win by decision, something like 116-112 or 115-113.

Kovalev's whole 2016 has now been planned out, and this unfortunate injury to Beterbiev couldn't have gone any better for him or Kathy Duva.

Barrera should be able to dispose of Mikhalkin easily. Barrera will face the winner of Kovalev-Pascal (Which is going to be Kovalev let's be real) sometime in May/June. Barrera is signed to Main Events so making that fight will be easy. Kovalev will destroy Barrera and then he'll face Andre Ward probably in November with all his belts intact.

The Haymon belt poaching will have to wait till 2017 lol.

I like Berbetiev as a fighter but this is some nice karma for the career path he was trying to take.

You know that Duva offered Beterbiev a shot at Kovalev, for this fall in Russia?
... and that Haymon didn't let Beterbiev take the fight.

Is Beterbiev genuinely injured? or did PBC just not fancy the purse bid situation knowing the Russians would be interested?

Kudos to the IBF for moving on anyway, haven't watched Mikhalkin, but I did think it would eventually come down to him. I think he was 13th in the IBF rankings.

                  Not sure about this...
... If the "Russians" would be interested, they could have been entered the purse bid for Stevenson-Kovalev also... Which I'm not aware is likely to happen.

Maybe, but they don't know Stevenson, they know Beterbiev & Kovalev.

Just saying, the shoulder injury and the IBF moving on seems kind of convenient.
