Comp wise Mayweather-Berto was just as bad as Pac-Algieri, and they both did "poorly". Glaser says Mayweather-Berto did 389k, while Pac-Algieri did just over 300k. But both fighters are tougher and more durable than Lemiuex. It took Berto 12 rounds to get stopped with an injured shoulder. And Algieri has never been stopped even against a monster puncher like Prov. But honestly, calling a spade a spade, all 3 fights ****** and were not worth it. I did not buy either of them.

Numbers-wise...This has to be one of the lowest HBO/Sho backed PPVs in history. I know Dawson/Hopkins did something like 40,000. But that wasn't nearly as hyped as this event.

Let's be honest, there was a mystique around Algeri when he beat Provod that made it seem like a feasible fight. Looking back with 20/20 hindsight and saying it was a massive squash is not being entirely honest because that's not how it looked at the time. Highly competitive? Perhaps not. But, people expected Algeri to present problems to Pac. No one really thought Lemieux was going to make it past 6 rounds.

I can still hear Kellerman saying "This will be the fight that launches ggg into star status" after ggg beat Lemieux lmfao
