Would love to see Kovalev vs Stevenson happen but honestly don't think it happens. It's interesting that Ward will likely end up fighting Kovalev before Stevenson does at this point.

Could be a bad guess but I wouldn't put it past them only really taking interest in fighters that are mainly situated in America that and the popularity Kovalev and GGG share is greater than Wladimir Klitschko.

Beside I think, well I know Wilder would be more than up for a Wladimir fight If Wlad doesn't lose to Dyson Fury.

Its a start though If they do force WBC champions to fight the right guy and at the moment Povetkin is the right guy who deserves it and... hasn't the WBC forced that one on Wilder?

With Ward signing a 3 fight contract with the end being Kov theres no way this happens. Maybe in 2017 if he gets past Ward or if Ward loses one of those 2/3

They never began negotiating between Duva and Haymon, ever. If you read any of the BScene articles it always says the WBC (re)issues a purse bid IF they don't negotiate.

They never began negotiations, there was never an "in negotiations process" they delayed and fought their own fights each.

Duva also sued Haymon at one point and that didn't help negotiations start up either.

Let's remember how we're at this point:

1. Kovalev-Stevenson deal was being made for HBO. Sergey Kovalev since the beginning has an EXCLUSIVE contract with HBO dictating he only fights on HBO. Stevenson never had/has such a contract with HBO or Showtime in his career.

2. Stevenson leaves Yvon Michael and GYM Promotions for Al Haymon's team.

3. Al Haymon and Co. abandon HBO and board Showtime.

4. Al Haymon and Stevenson ignore attempts at negotiating, fight their own fights, attempt to secure a Hopkins fight and fail miserably and now we're still waiting for a fight that could of already happened.

Problem is, purse bids have been successful since the dawn of time, and they are fair. The closest that fight got is a purse bid, and Team Kovalev walked away.

The reason why Team Kovalev walked away is absolutely irrelevant, because not only do purse bids work, they are fair.

I think that public perception is a little twisted on this one, mainly because Stevenson is perceived as a low-life. That purse bid is the closest we got to that fight.

Kovalev went 12 with the Alien... I see Ward clinching more than BHop, but Ward with the youth advantage and reflexive speed. I too want to see Stevenson vs Kovalev soon.

I bet we'll see a Ward vs Pascal sooner than a Kova vs Ward or Kova vs Stevenson.

If Ward/Kovalev happens first that fight could lose some shine.

Ward is the newcomer, he can fight the winner no problem.

But if Stevenson/Kovalev doesn't happen real soon then I hope that Ward fights one of them, preferably Kovalev.

If you were managing Kovalev you wouldn't want one side to deal with all the promotion. You manage the #1 guy with 3 belts and you get bought out of promotion? Bull****.

They should be able to negotiate instead of Haymon forcing it into a purse bid. Haymon refuses to negotiate with Duva's team and make it seem like Kova and Duva are running when they simply want a fair negotiations instead of a purse bid.

They will all get paid good regardless of what happens, it just should be done at the table not with who has the biggest check to buy the promotion rights.

The WBC 53rd Annual World Convention will be held in Kunming, province of Yunnan in China, from November the 1st to November 7th 2015. Means the WBC will reveal the 2016 mandatories. The WBC didn't leave the WBC Diamond belt in Kovalev hands for nothing. They will still persue Kathy Duva's original bluff/request from December 2014. Kovalev vs Stevenson will be mandatory again.
Klimas/Duva could try every technic to avoid a clash between Kovalev & Stevenson, I wonder if fans will still buy this; I won't...
