You need to remember the context you started my conversation with me. I was replying to Bigjavi's statement about WHY they chose Monroe over Lara and I kept to it.

Well tbh discussing Lara and Monroe have to many angles to approach. For a context of 160 opposition, the Monroe Jr. bout is justified, especially when he demonstrated his success at Boxino, however, Boxeno has no weight carried by the pool of let's say a Super Six tournament. That right there is another tangent, but Im just taking a gamble that we can agree on tournament comparison.

Now back to the more political side of things, what I don't agree with, is K2 running their mouths with fallacies or contradictions. I see no sense in them running their mouths about "154" of they don't acknowledge the top 154 fighters, and not specifically targetting Alvarez. Therefore, by saying Lara doesn't bring attention is clearly a cowardice approach. I would see truth in K2 or Sanchez's word of mouth IF they stated, " we are only interested in Lara if he comes to 160." They don't insinuate this at all because avoiding Lara is the best bet. Nobody at 160 even moves like Lara nor is there any Cuban style fighter at 160 trained by guys like Ismael Salas.

Erislandy Lara has been wanting to fight Golovkin, basically since the Canelo fight, yet Team Golovkin has consistently acted like he doesn't even exist.

Lara would be heads and shoulders above any fighter that Golovkin has ever stepped into the ring with, in terms of name ID and talent, yet they never considered the fight (while crying about no one being willing to fight him).

Cotto and Canelo are both junior middleweights, likely heading down to 154 for their possible rematch. Only reason Golovkin now caes about "unifiying the titles" (while never mentioning Lee-Saunders winner) is because him and his camp see the payday that a fight with either of the star junior middleweights would mean for a 33-year old middleweight who refuses to fight anyone.

Lara, are you serious? He had trouble with slow as molasses Angulo and Delvin Rodriguez. And he would be able to handle Golovkin, ridiculous..

Cotto/Canelo winner, Lee/Saunders winner, Jacobs/Quillin winner, Lara, and Andrade would all make competitive fights against GGG. I'd favor GGG in every match but I think he'll have his hands full with more than a few of these guys. Quillin-Lee-Andrade can at least match his size and reach & Cotto-Canelo-Lara have competitive pedigree along with very good technical skills.

The GGG unifier would come under the WBCs special circumstances - meaning the split would almost certainly be no worse than 60/40, most likely 55/45 or 50/50.

And as far as the WBC are concerned the bout would be at 160. Of course a private arrangement between the teams could be reached but If Cotto didn't want it and GGGs team insisted on Golovkin being allowed to fight at 160, Cotto would, in effect, be vacating.

I cant possibly imagine why they would do that ?

Cotto would be the best possible payday on the planet for Golovkin, and Team GGG have often stated that he can make 154, including in this very article.

Why you talking about Ward? In fact whenever anyone mentions Floyd and GGG, wards names is bought up? Ward retired years ago didn't he, even longer than Floyd.

Floyd is the man to last 12 rounds with GGG and in the process become a genuine ATG alongside Duran, SRL and Pac with Pacs 8 division titles. Again don't ask GGG to fight Ward again. He will do that once hes unified middleweight and looking for new challenges. Maybe he will be underdog against Ward so that would be good for GGG to overcome adversity.

NOBODY knew Willie Monroe Jnr.

Stating that he was a bigger draw than Lara is absurd.

NOBODY watched that fight to see Golovkins opponent.

Using money as an excuse failed with that selection.

When they chose Willie, they rolled out a tuneup and avoided the spoiler with world-class skills.
