IBF/IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (34-0, 31 KOs) has no intention of agreeing to a catch-weight against the winner of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) vs. Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs), who battle for the WBC middleweight championship on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

No way Cotto fights Triple G at 160... Canelo is his only possiblity..I'm sure Canelo will ask for a CW too even though he cried about a catch weight with Floyd

To be fair, GGG's team should not said 164 to Ward though... makes GGG and his team seem hypocritical...

But why they respond to Ward at all is beyond me.. dude needs to work his way back to HBO from BET before I'd even respond to him..

Yet you had no issues with him fighting Lemieux, who's last fight was on FOX. Or Monroe, who's previous fight was on ESPN. STFU!!!!!!

People make no sense when they bring up a network as if it reflects on the fighters skill or value. Roc Nation wanted a date, Jay Z used his pull and got time from BET, and they put Ward on that card. Now Ward is about to sign a multi fight deal with HBO. Roc Nation seems to be on working terms with HBO, they had to start somewhere.

Yeah, but I suppose the main difference is that a Cotto or Canelo, just like GGG, would be a middleweight champion. And the fight would put 3 middleweight championships on the line - 2 of which would belong to GGG. So quite rightly, GGG should expect the fight to take place at the normal 160 pound middleweight limit.

The 164 catchweight with Ward involves two men in separate weight classes without any concern for belts at 160 or 168.

Lemieux's last fight was on Pay-per-View in Canada and a US TV deal was worked out at the last minute due to business barriers. I'm sure he is more popular than Ward. I mean, Ward is a nobody.

Sorry GGG but your team has made you look like you scared.

Funny how he would fight Chavez Jr. Froch at 168, yet he only would fight Ward @164............SMH.

I honestly don't see how anyone that calls themself a fight fan can not wanna see Ward-GGG. Its this generation's Jones-Toney. The winner would likely be viewed an the new P4P King. And for GGG, it completely silences his critics. Yet, about 95% of his fanbase don't want the fight. And make excuse, after excuse, after pathetic excuse as to why it shouldn't. Its pathetic.
