Because Froch retired instead of fighting GGG. Literally talked ****, but chose to retire instead of cash in.

And yes, Dawson offered Ward a Catchweight, Ward said no.

By Rob Smith: Chad Dawson (31-1, 17 KO's) said it wasn't his idea to fight WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward (25-0, 13 KO's) at 168 for their

Dawson was dumb for taking it. But it impacted the fight.

I don't mind catch weights, but not for title fights.

So it's OK to ask cotto (153) to move up 7 pounds but giggi can only move up 4 for ward
Team giggi full of chicken shot. They know cotto KO him at 155

No reason to change course now just because of a bunch of Canelo fans are scared their boy is about to get exposed.

        GGG rehydrated to 170

        Canelo rehydrated to 171-174.

This is the next big big fight. GGG will be the man to best if he wins.

Funny how you all want GGG to go up to fight a guy who just fought a bum at LHW.

But that same LHW has never gone up to challenge himself.
Dude there are many different people on here who are posting who are not GGG fans and also not Canelo fans. I don't very much care for GGG to move up yet, I just think that if he wants the Cotto / Canelo winner he needs to understand that he will have to meet some demands made by the other side and that includes the weight at which the contest will take place. Making bold statements before he even gets to the negotiating table will not get him those fights. If he is as confident that he can smash those two pretend MW's then fight them a few lbs below the limit. Yes I am aware of the whole mandatory argument but that is just another bargaining chip he can bring to the table to get himself a bigger split. His fans need to stop acting like catch weights are some sort of evil request because if he concedes to a catch weight you guys are going to look ******. If you guys are content with GGG acquiring the rest of the titles via vacancies fighting nobody's more power to you, just be ready for the **** storm of criticism that will follow.

And you know they never offered no 164 Catchweight. Repeating it doesn't make it true.

Lof mentioned it to Rafael, and Dan put it out.

            It wasn't a real offer.

The real offer GGG, and HBO offered Ward they turned down.

And even the Ward contract wasn't to fight until next year.

But yea, And GGG won't be fight Cotto anyways.

He'll be fight Canelo, who'll be a MW lineal champ, at age 25. He and GGG will rehydrate to 170.

And it's gonna be a big fight. P
            Maybe you'll watch it.
I will certainly watch it. I predict Canelo will get a SD/UD against Cotto - take a voluntary and fight GGG in September.

The fight will be at 157 because GGG will want the cash and titles - they'll rehydrate to 170 and Canelo will pound GGG down.

GGG will say that 160 has been tough to make and he will move up. Ward will be at 175 by then and will most likely have beaten Killer Kov by then. GGG will be itching to fight Ward and then try to negotiate for a 170 CW

Then Ward will acquiesce him, fight him at 172, pound him to a puddle. The new narrative will be that GGG is washed up

            Story ends

No one is asking Cotto to move up to any weight at all. They are just insisting that he make his MANDATORY MIDDLEWEIGHT DEFENSE at the MIDDLEWEIGHT WEIGHT LIMIT. As long as he does not weigh more than 160, he can come in at any weight he pleases. If he feels he is too small to defend the MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE against a true MIDDLEWEIGHT, then I guess he does not deserve to hold it, does he?

Here, let me show you something. What do these flyers say. Do they say Cotto is the champion at Jr. MW.

Does it say these are MW fights?

He may fight them at below, but what is the point, it is not like he wont be the same weight when they rehydrate.

Its actually pointless. And it pisses fans off.

At least you think your fighter wins, that I can respect. Although I think that is insane, Cotto will get crushed.

Fortunately, I do not think we will see that happen, because I do not think Cotto gets past Canelo.

Although I imagine they would be more inclined to take the catchweight with Cotto, than with Canelo, it doesn't matter if they do not want to, the outcome is the same. They receive the belt.

                  I guess we will see.

Exactly i don't think some ppl understand the difference between this and the Ward situiton. Its not rocket science GGG is a MW champ trying to fight the Lineal MW Champ, if Cotto is too small drop the ****in belt.

I'm confused...Cotto is my guy; but I think Canelo will win their fight. He's hitting his prime while Cotto has clearly past his.
