Where did the rumor come from...

That Golovkin destroyed Canelo in sparring? I keep hearing things like,

"Oh GGG blew Canelo's head off."
    "GGG laid Canelo out."
"GGG send Canelo to the hospital."
"GGG killed Canelo and then gave him CPR to revive him..."

Ok maybe the last one was a stretch... but you get my point. GGG fans have been clinging to this fantasy that really... lets face it... never really happened. And I'm not hating on GGG, I've been a fan of his pre N'Dam. Love the dude to death but come on...

That's what I heard him say too. I think he was the only boxer that actually believed Canelo would beat Mayweather as well.

There's a Ring TV report by someone who watched them sparring. It sounded like Golovkin got the better of him in a fairly competitive session but definitely not destroyed him or anything like that.

Sparring stories get way too much attention anyway.

Yeah I think it was the one interview with Dougie Fischer. I believe he said along the lines of "It was pretty good, but I saw Canelo's leg stiffen up a bit." Or something like that, I can't remember, I have to see it again. But yeah that's hardly "destroying" someone...

It was a close sparring session and Canelo must've been 21? Lol. GGG was in his prime. I'd expect the bigger stronger GGG to get the better of Canelo. From what I read it was close but GGG edged it.
