yeah, just going through their website, some good up and comers. gbp isnt the powerhouse it was pre-haymon but its still good enough to be the 3rd biggest promotion out there.

The thing to realize is to look honestly at these guys BEFORE these fights got made. Lucas was on the way out, David was overhyped & Canelo has been groomed for where he's going to be next month for the better part of a decade. Therefore even if Canelo loses he's still setup to be one of the biggest draws in the sport. Unless he completely embarrasses himself on some Tyson vs Holyfield type level. I don't think he's losing anyway, but even if he does GBP will be fine cuz people will still wanna see Canelo.

I don't know about that. He was being positioned to take over the top spot at 140 after Danny Garcia moved up and there was buzz about him getting the Pacquiao fight next year if he got by Postol.

He had lots of positive momentum going but it all came to a grinding halt once he took that KO loss.

As usual, same TBE/IV fans justifying the need to cherrypick so that loses would be minimized. It's important that their hero doesn't lose. These folks are not real fans. They love mismatches. Look at them. They're celebrating.

Well sure GBP had plans for him. GBP wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't. That doesn't mean a 33 yr old fighter who went life & death with John Molina & just barely got by Ruslan, who's fun to watch but is seen as a limited fighter by most knowledgeable fans, has a lot of positive momentum to me. He won some fights since the Garcia L, but idk that fans should have been all that excited about his future prospects with how those fights actually went down. I think the writing was on the wall for Lucas, at least it was written on my wall he was coming to the end of the line at the elite level.

Other promoter's fighters would be losing too if they actually had to fight live bodies.

Exactly. GBP should be commended for putting their prized fighters at high risk. Good for them that their fighters got balls.

Canelo is by far the most important, if he wins or even loses close they will be alright. He is the horse their wagon is hitched to and he has the horsepower to pull the cart as long as he keeps winning.

I am sure GBP knew the risks and were thinking we will go 1-1 in the other big fights they had lined up. Going 0-2 hurts but those guys are fairly replaceable.
