The reason the fight took so long to sign was because of the "secret" rematch clause Cotto wanted. And it makes sense because most all champions put it in there. Unless the fight is a blowout. There is going to be a rematch.

Tell that to GGG fans. He's more likely to get the WBC belt in vacant fight then fight Andy lee since BJS said he's going nowhere near GGG.

If you read the story its just sounds like its a WBC demand that they'd have to agree to fight GGG next, not have a signed contract or completed negotiations or anything like that. Thats the way I read it anyway. It actually sounds like a nothing thing, but the way it was headlined makes it seem more dramatic. And maybe to a guy like Cotto it will be or could be idk. I don't suspect this news to move or was unknown to Canelo & Oscar doe.

GGG/Canelo may happen down the line but too much money to be made with Mexican fighters for HBO now that Jr. is gone.

I hope neither fights GGG and his CHEAP @ss promoters. Let him fight the GREAT Andy Lee who Chavez Jr. pimped out. And then After that he can go back and forth fighting Campbell soup cans and Hunts tomato soup cans.
