Comments Thread For: Golovkin vs. Lemieux: BScene.com Staff Predictions

Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux are officially set for their middleweight title unification bout, which takes place Saturday evening in front of a sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York City. HBO Pay-Per-View will air the event live.

The bout marks the first unification bout for both fighters, as well as their respective PPV debuts.

Golovkin (33-0, 30KOS) has rapidly emerged as one of the biggest stars in the sport today. His drawing power has been felt on both coasts of the United States, a remarkable rise to fame following his stateside debut just over three years ago.

Most seem to agree with me, Golovkin by mid-fight TKO..... but it could also come down to whoever lands the first meaningful punch.

I think that Golovkin is clearly a much better fighter than Lemieux, so long as he settles into the fight nice and early he should be fine.

Lemieux needs to jump on Golovkin.

It could be a real short fight.

We all know golovkin is the clear favourite...much more technical and accurate.....we all know lemeuix will just have to storm triple GGG and load up and I think he will catch Gennady and if he can land a massive left on his chin he could cause a sensation......but here go's my prediction ...lemeuix will have some moments earlier and meet golovkin head on.....but I think by the 6th I believe golovkin would have chopped him down with a stoppage...could be a body shot that ends it

This fight is no PPV-worthy IMHO, I'm not supporting oscar's hype job. He knows damn well that Lemonuex or whoever doesn't have much more than a wild puncher's chance in this event. He's getting greedy just like Arum. I'm saving my buckos till next month's competitive fight (Canelo vs Cotto)

Im not that big on that fight.

              For three reasons.

              1. Honestly, Canelo has such a physical advantage. As usual.

              2. Neither have fought at 160. The fights it basically a Jr.MW fight, except Canelo rehydrated to a legit MW.

              3. Both will win the MW belt and lineal Title and basically duck their mandatory.

So basically they're fighting to be a fake MW champion.

              I can't support that.
