Not really interesting, Edison Miranda used to come in on fight night around 190. I don't think anyone would have said he should fight at Cruiser.

Back on topic... FYI info, Lemieux went from 160 to close to 180 on fight day on a couple occasions... His optimal boxing weight should be around 175, which would be the target for tonight ...

I hate how boxing is more a business than a sport, but its how its being played. Youre right, beating a much bigger Ward would be a huge legacy win. Its a shame boxing isnt really like that anymore

Also the timing played a big part. When GGG team was looking at Chavez and Froch, it was because they couldnt get anything meaningful at 160. At that time Ward was in court and not fighting. Then Ward signed with Roc and Iskowitz said he needs a few tuneups. Fine.

Meanwhile, things changed at 160 and GGG got the Lemieux unification and the Cotto-Canelo winner mando lined up. But now the Ward stans think GGG should abandon those plans because NOW Ward is ready to fight, I mean NEXT YEAR Ward is ready to fight, per his offer.
