I believe you do have a point in the sense that they are kind of overhyping his win over Khabib, but at the same time I've seen khabib fight at least 4 or 5 times and although he had success here and there against Broner he for the most part was dominated pretty badly.
Not only did Broner dominate him, but he made him look BAD, a lot worse than he actually is. Part of it could be the layoff Khabib had but I mean mentally Broner was able to break him down and that's not something ANYBODY could just do to a tough Russian fighter like Khabib and no one has ever done that to him before even remotely. Broner looked a lot better than he has ever since he moved up from 135, which was 3 years ago.
To the eye test at least to me personally, if Broner keeps performing like this and keeps improving you can't deny that he's a top 5 p4p kind of talent. But we also do know talent alone does not make you a top 5 fighter in the world and he's far from that currently so I guess we'll just see where he goes from here.
