Nevada's Boxing Authorities Must Get It Right When They Hand Out Suspensions and Fine

    My suggestions:

Referre Richard Steele should be reprimanded in some way for his errors in reffing (not counting the knockdown of Floyd, not penalizing Judah and letting the fight continue after the melee).

Roger Mayweather will get suspended and rightfully so. But his actions aren't unwarranted. Roger predicted it according to Floyd that Zab would cheat when things weren't going his way. I'm against DQ'ing the fighter who's corner jumps in because Floyd can't control Roger. No fighter can control his trainer and cutman.

Judah must also be suspended and or fined. He is what sports at any and all levels shouldn't be about; bad sportsmanship. Judah can't come from this unscathed. And it's extremely sickening that Merchant allowed him to play victim "Roger had an arm bar to my throat." Jim Gray sure would have been on Zab's case.

Yoel Judah should be suspended. He was throwing punches and apart of the fight.

But I have a feeling only Roger will see any type of condemnation from the athletic commission.

Kudos to the officers too. They stopped it without anyone being hurt and whatnot.

The NSAC will hand down some hefty fines, that is for sure. Steele did what he felt was right and will not be punished. He wanted to give the fans paying for the show and live, their monies worth and he also stopped a much larger riot from happening by not calling the fight to stop.

It would have been Bowe-Golota all over again if he would have called a halt to that fight.

They should change the rules, if a trainer jumps in, then he should be thrown out. It doesn't make any sense a fighter should lose because of his trainer.

How about in other sports, when players & coaches jump in, then that team should lose, I think it's ****** rule & should be changed.

A fighter should not lose because of his trainer, because no other sport have these ****** rules.

Yeah but it wasn't just the stoppage issue with Steele, he blew it twice in that fight. Three times if you count both Judah shots. He also didn't even follow the rules when a corner man enters the ring. That fight should have been stopped.

I am willing to bet, Zab will get off the hook. I just know it. I ultimately blame Zab for all this and like I said earlier, it was so frustrating seeing him play the victim.

And boxing commissions are so gay. It took a **** load of time for the New Jersey Boxing Commission to over-rule the Camacho Jr decision over Leija to a no contest.

Other sports have penalties when a coach comes into game of play. Technical free throws and personal fouls of 15 yards.

Richard Steele did miss the knock down but he is human and is a good ref just missed a call he shouldn't be reprimanded for that. Steele also never had a chance to administer point deductions after the low blow because Roger came immediately into the ring.

It also doesnt matter if Roger predicted a foul or not. He can't enter the ring and he knows this. Just like when Ron Artest entered the stands and recieved the harshes penalty for being the cause of the riot so should Roger. Yes, Yoel entered and swung at Roger but Roger's actions was what precipitated the entire melee. Had Roger not entered the ring the whole melee wouldnt have happend. I think Yoel, should be fined and reprimanded also but like Artest, Roger should recieve the strictest punishment.

I also agree that a corner man entering the ring should not be immediate cause for DQ but Nevada already has the rule that corner men entering the ring does not constitute automatic DQ but Nevada athletic commision already has this rule at discretion of the referee. But a corner man actually laying hands on an opposing fighter should be grounds for DQ (not automatic but possible). The fighter does have a choice in corner staff and should take responsibilty of his teams actions, possibly a point deduction for entering the ring could be an option instead of automatic DQ with the decision being at the referee's discretion.

Thats true, I think that Roger was justly thrown out of the fight in the Judah fight. But as far as dq's, that shoud only occurr when the trainer attacks the fighter.

yes i agree with the fines and theres one thing for sure steele slipped up should not be allowed to ref any major fight ... he was apart of that destuction of meldrick taylor career and i know some people will say different but he slipped in that fight as well... and as far as the mayfairy fight he should of been DQ no other way because if you think about it i think that roger had another agenda because he knows better than anybody about entering as ring before the round is over so that makes me think that he had a bet on zab what do you think...

I heard Richard Steele is known to be Don King's referee. Blowing calls, making bad decisions. I think Yoel Judah, Zab Judah, and Roger Mayweather should be fined in some way.

yes to fines and DQs to the trainers, but not the title and the boxers. its only fair because BOTH CAMPS entered the ring, and they shouldnt be picking on roger only. unless DK has some of his dirty old bag of tricks there SHOULDNT be much furor on this. the aggrieved party was the winning boxer, and it wasnt even close. any final decision that will aggrieve floyd's camp wouldnt be nice to be seen by the boxing community and the public.
