i'd think it was a tactic to get ward into the ring looking like a dead man.

look at how ward's people talk about andre ward. you don't crap on a fight you are willing to take. t hey're crapping on the fight.

it is what it is. golovkin's top earning opponents are small middleweights moving up. they're mexican and puerto rican respectively. the fight owuld be huge in LA / vegas if canelo wins, or huge in new york if cotto wins. not sure if they'll take the fight, but that's the pot of gold at the ned of the rainbow if you're gennady golovkin.

      i'd avoid 168 lbs, too.

I'm not a Ward fan but Ward coming down to 160 is just as unfair as GGG going up to 168. A weight of 164 is right in the middle and would be fair unless Ward just can't make 164 without hurting himself. If that's the case then both boxers should go their separate ways and fight in their own weight classes.

Ward can't make 168 and you want he go down to 160?

              I don't get the whole Ward/GGG thing.

Could Ward beat Mayweather? It's the same kind of question.

I like to see guys fight who are the same size. I think Ward/Kovalev is a good matchup, with Ward being slightly the taller guy at 6'1". But they are about the same size.

Golovkin is 5'10". He's a true MW. His goal is to unify the MW division. He's doing a great job.

              (If Klitschko could make 160....)

Any real boxing fans would rightfully recognise it as a complete b1tch move.

Given his hyped up reputation, even the 164 request makes Golovkin look like an absolute puussy.

Must be why he turned him down at 164.

No, he made the comment that he would move down in weight but during negotiations he asked for a compromise and just like the GGG thing, he refused.
