Clearly. And some of those punches got to GGG too. Monroe just isn't experienced or talented enough to really threaten. Plus he boxed too much. Should have stood in the trenches more but that's not his style.

        Told you guys......

I told you guys that GGG gets hit a little too much, because he is an offensive fighter. I can see DL hurting him or knocking him down. You've been warned. This is the biggest fight of his career and we will find out just how tough he is in three days. I will not be totally convinced until after this fight. He will have to take punishment to win. If he's smart, he'll bring his defense.

for a while now i've gotten the impression that golovkin was getting complacent and not paying his opponents due respect (perhaps out of frustration for the stagnation his career was suffering at the time). i hope to see a tighter performance against a threat like lemieux. i like "big drama shows" but i like winners better and i want to see the virtuoso performance that i believe golovkin is capable of

Golovkin could have KOd Monroe in the second round.
GGG clearly carried him -- because Monroe is a southpaw and because GGG needed some more rounds in the ring.
Golovkin can't afford to dispatch everyone in 2-3 rounds -- he has to provide some show in exchange for the money he gets from the crowd... In addition, GGG is supposed to meet better and better opponents in the future and it's expected to be able to fight in the championship rounds as well...
            (not some rocket science though...)

Golovkin fought Murray immediately prior to Monroe, and it went 11 rounds. I don't know why Sanchez is bringing Rubio up.
