Probably more optimism being that Golovkin is mandatory to the WBC belt, which has been very public. Of course, that alone shouldn't mean the WBC will actually follow their own rules, as they rarely do and constantly invent new ones whenever they see fit, however since his mandatory position and the "Golvokin is next" statements by the WBC has been so public, it seems that K2 could actually take legal action against the WBC if they tried to delay the fight again. Further, if they received any kind of written documentation from the WBC regarding his mandatory status, that could be enough to actually force the fight, as the WBC would likely try to avoid a lawsuit that they could lose (which they have multiple times in the past, most recently with Rubio).
The other part is just wanting to see "what's right". Unifying all the belts is really important to me. It was when Hopkins did it and it's something I want to see in every weight class whenever possible. It's also about letting Gennady finally get a shot to accomplish something he's been working so hard at for many years. He's been chasing unification fights and the lineal title for so long, with so many circumstances of other guys not willing to fight, politics getting in the way or whatever the case, it would be nice to finally see him accomplish his goal, or at the very least just get the opportunity.
Finally, the sooner this happens, the sooner fights at 168 can happen. I don't think he's leaving the division until he's accomplished that or at least exhausted all possibilities (some things he may not be able to control (Cotto beating Canelo and then retiring from the sport, for example)).
