Comments Thread For: Cleverly Sees Few Weaknesses in Strong Fonfara

Nathan Cleverly says his upcoming bout with light heavyweight contender Andzrej Fonfara will be his toughest since he fought Sergey Kovalev. But while Cleverly lost to Kovalev by fourth-round technical knockout back in 2013, he believes the result will be different against Fonfara.

“He’s a good fighter. He’s got an excellent resume. He’s coming off some good wins,” Cleverly said of Fonfara on an Oct. 8 media conference call, speaking about a week ahead of their Oct. 16 fight in Chicago on a Premier Boxing Champions broadcast on Spike TV [Click Here To Read More]

Fonfara has too much toughness for Cleverly, I think. He will make Nathan wiilt eventually.

I've always been impressed with Fonfara.

Cleverly is decent, but I'd be surprised if he goes 12.

why? people getting too hyped on fonfara after chavez.

clev only ever got stopped by the Beast that is Kovalev, fonfara just isnt on sergey's level, power wise or skill wise.

fonfara can easily be outboxed, im just worried about clev's motivation these days, he hasnt been the same since being destroyed by kovalev (most aren't)
best win being a fat chavez and not being KO'd by stevenson isnt much TBH.

I am not comparing fonfara with kovalev, I just think Cleverly has not got over that defeat.

I like cleverly, but for me he should have retired after Bellew.

im comparing them because he's the only guy that ever stopped clev

moving up 25 pounds is huge, i hardly think a retirement is necessary.
on the other hand, it looks like his motivation is gone, maybe your right and this is just his last payday..

Cleverly is smart enough to do well without boxing.

Losing to an idiot like Bellew would have hurt him as well.

I just think his best days are behind him.
