I didn't know Lemiuex was that light, he looks pretty chunky come fight night. Maybe he does a very gradual cut.
ppl cut for 30 day weighins...and use the 29th day as a way to determine how their body will react on fight night..basically it a precursor of knowledge...

he's been 173 at a 30 day weigh in as well...and he is smaller now bc he knows he has to train his bod down to 155 for cotto/canelo winner if it happens

Honestly wasn't aware it was common to cut for 30 day weigh ins (thought it was something you only did if you were grossly overweight). Interesting.

Golovkin-Canelo shouldn't have any weight issues. Canelo has been heavier than Golovkin on in the ring the past couple years. Of course, it's a big fight and we are in the post-TMT era so they will squabble over 0.5 of a pound...

If Cotto wins well that will be a huge disaster.

So many posters in here saying this is proof Golovkin is a itsy bitsy teeny weeny middleweight who have also been saying that Ward being 173 30 days or whatever out from the Smith fight doesn't mean he can make 168. ****ing pathetic.

Both these guys going to make weight just fine, It seems. Lemieux has a hell of an opportunity here, but it's hard to imagine him overcoming both Golovkin's power and skill.

GGG is an average size middleweight and Ward can't make 168 anymore. GGG's punches wouldn't have the same effect on a LHW and Ward would have a large functional weight advantage and would lean on, tie up and tire out GGG. This fight won't be made.

If ward could have made 168 he would've instead of having it at a catch weight.

Why dont they just say they dont want him to fight Ward and be done with it?
