Eubank has probably opted to pay the sanctioning fee so his record shows a successful defence. It's not that hard to understand.

The WBA is hell.
Isn't Floyd still the WBA 154lbs champ despite not defending the belt for TWO YEARS? Yet Eubank gets stripped after like 8 months. Nonsensical. He should definitely dump the belt in a bin, a la Rid**** Bowe.

It's a sad day when the lineal champ has to defend his title in Panama while the paper champ fights on PPV at the same time.

Has anyone looked on the record of Alfonso Blanco? 7 of his 11 opponents had a negative record. He had nearly three years of inactivity until this year. The combined record of all his oponents is 62-62-2. He doesn't qualify for a interim title shot, neither does Khomitsky.
But it's not as bad as Mauricio Reynoso getting a WBA 168lb interim title shot against Vincent Feigenbutz after being inactive for more than two years and getting ranked after winning a four rounder...

What a load of crap, he pulled out of the Billy Joe Saunders rematch because they asked him to vacate the belt so the winner would be WBO mandatory, instead he turns down the fight and will now vacate straight after fighting an old man.
