Eubank has probably opted to pay the sanctioning fee so his record shows a successful defence. It's not that hard to understand.

      The WBA is hell.
So true. I find the whole situation bizarre. Khomitsky isn't even ranked in the WBA! And Blanco is ranked 10th...so why on earth are they getting to fight for the interim title? At least Jeter is top 15 in the WBA rankings.

Isn't Floyd still the WBA 154lbs champ despite not defending the belt for TWO YEARS? Yet Eubank gets stripped after like 8 months. Nonsensical. He should definitely dump the belt in a bin, a la Rid**** Bowe.

The WBA should change their logo to a monkey ****ing a football.

Has anyone looked on the record of Alfonso Blanco? 7 of his 11 opponents had a negative record. He had nearly three years of inactivity until this year. The combined record of all his oponents is 62-62-2. He doesn't qualify for a interim title shot, neither does Khomitsky.
But it's not as bad as Mauricio Reynoso getting a WBA 168lb interim title shot against Vincent Feigenbutz after being inactive for more than two years and getting ranked after winning a four rounder...

              Chris Eubank interim title

An acting interim-champion, whatever next? Suppose he gets injured, will we then have to have an acting acting interim-champion! As Groucho said "Get me the sanity clause".

More champs than challengers and not enough sick bags to pass round. The WBA should crawl up its own arse and gas itself.

i know they're the oldest, but the wba really are the most worthless of the four major sanctioning bodies in boxing today

In other words , First we need his money , then we take his belt..

Look at all the current champions at 160 all fighting a top contender , Look at who Eubank Jr is fighting lol

What a load of crap, he pulled out of the Billy Joe Saunders rematch because they asked him to vacate the belt so the winner would be WBO mandatory, instead he turns down the fight and will now vacate straight after fighting an old man.
