They have used every excuse in the book to duck Ward.

They clearly want nothing to do with him.

The current roadblock is the weight, and yet here Sanchez is saying that Ward needs to prove himself

All this year they've consistently talked about how Gennady wants to take care of business at 160 first, then moving up in weight to face Ward is an option.

There were reporters there interviewing fighters and trainers. They were asking questions. Sanchez was answering the questions. That's what an interview is.

GGG fanboys dont want Ward because GGG and his team dont want Ward , so it auto becomes Ward is unproven and not a big enough draw but then that makes you look at GGG resume with a blank look on your face .

probably because no one is saying that larry.

First off, Golovkin is a middleweight, he's fighting middleweights and is trying to unify the division. Ward is not a middleweight.

Second, I think you confuse what some people say about Ward's popularity with something else entirely. I think what most people are saying (of course I can't speak for everyone, some are trolls, some might not no any better), is that Ward isn't a big enough name to jump up in weight class and completely pass on his mandatory position with Canelo/Cotto. Not yet anyways. If Ward was as popular as Mayweather or Pacquiao, of course, there wouldn't be any need to wait with that kind of money on the table, but that's not the reality, there isn't that kind of money on the table. The plan is to fight Lemieux to unify then see what happens with the WBC belt. After that, whatever can happen.

They weren't one fight away from a Canelo fight at those different times (the chavez fight is going back to last year). Both obviously were for a lot more money as well.

Regardless of the money, they wouldn't take either of those fights right now being in the position they are in (PPV with Lemieux and WBC's word that they have winner of Canelo/Cotto).
