Comments Thread For: Canelo: It's My Time, I'm Confident I'll Beat Cotto

Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is growing with confidence that he'll walk away with his hand raised on November 21, when he challenges Miguel Angel Cotto of Puerto Rico for the WBC middleweight championship at the Events Center at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The HBO Pay-Per-View bout is going to happen at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) has no concerns over Cotto's "secret weapon" - Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach of the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California.

I think he beats Cotto, but hope he stays at 160 and continue there and not go back down.

After GGG beats Lemieux, Canelo will be the last big finger that Golden Boy has.

De La Hoya is already making excuses as to why he is gonna go back to JR.MW. Where he drains 20 pounds to make weight.

Funny thing is, Canelo goes back to Jr.MW and probably loses if he fights anyone good like Andrade--if dude ever starts to fight again.

Cotto will make Canelo look a average fighter, trust me on this one.Too much movement for that flat footed plodding Mexican.

Yea I think your correct, Cotto should be moving around especially early. I hope Alvarez is prepared to stalk for awhile.

I had been leaning initially toward Alvarez , mostly due to his size and combination punching. But after looking at this for awhile now I think Cotto will fight too smart for Canelo. He'll look similar in his movement to Margarito II but will be facing alot less effective pressure.

I remember Canelo said the exact same thing prior to fight Floyd but there was too much footwork around by Mayweather and I think Cotto will have the same strategy as Floyd did.

This will be an extremely easy win for the Irishman. Cotto has looked horrible in his last five fights.

Floyd has more skills than cotto. But it is a great strategy. It worked for Floyd against canelo. Against PAC too.

He won't pull a Kirkland and go toe to toe with Canelo. That is the wrong approach.

But Cotto is no Floyd, less skilled.

And why does he talk about himself in the third person??
                    *****es talk like that.
