Will Toney capture a heavyweight title?

Well, he has at least one more belt he can go after before people start calling bull****. Golota got three shots IN A ROW, so Toney is due for at least one more title shot. As it stands now, it's looking like Toney vs. Rahman/Maskaev winner or Toney vs. Brewster/Liakovich II winner. Considering Toney came into the biggest fight of his life grotesquely overweight with 6 months to train, does anyone think he has a serious shot to win a title? If so, who would he win it from?

I think his only chance right now is for Maskaev to beat Rahman and Toney to outbox the pathetic heavyweight that Maskaev is. Even then, would Toney come in shape or get pounded to the body all night and lose a decision?

Toney's time is up in another year and a half I think. He's got one shot to pass Roy and Hopkins (unless of course Hopkins beats Tarver) by winning and defending a heavyweight title.

Toney will get more shots, after all he is a marquee name. However, if James doesnt get himself prepared for fights the right way he will never win another belt. I do wish him luck though.

He had 6 months to prepare for Rahman and came in at a record high weight. I don't think Toney will ever be in shape again. I think his stint at heavyweight is all but over and I have to call it a failure only because he hasn't captured a title in a division where Lamon Brewster, Nicolay Valuev, Wladimir Klitschko, Chris Byrd, John Ruiz, and Sergei Liakhovich have.

well jeez,,,,if maskaev is that bad whats that make rahman considering he knocked him out of the ring literally. I think toney is done. people forget hes getting up there in age and has had injuries. so the odds dont figure him getting any better. I think the only guy he'd have a good chance of beating is brewster and byrd,,,but brewster already lost and byrd will probably lose his next fight. serg is too big and has quick hands for a big heavy. maskeavs chin usually gets him beat but toney cant pop a zit at heavy weight and Id favor maskeav beating him with his size and strength. Id favor rahman again as well

I forgot about valuev. I havent seen enough of him to really gauge him against toney but hearing he shouldnt have got the decisions over donald and ruiz make me wonder if toney wouldnt chop the big oaf down with body shots and a big speed advantage. would be a funny fight to see. not sure if the size strength factor would be too much to overcome or not for toney

It's rumored that Toney grossly underprepared for Rahman, that he didn't even do any roadwork. I think he takes his next shot more seriously and gets the belt.
