I've always like that cat..
ever since I heard how he has travelled the USA speaking to kids in High Schools to warn them about promiscuous life styles, such as the one that got him AIDS.
Gotta give someone who takes a negative like that and makes it a postive.

Nice post. I always wondered about him, after he got aids i hadn't heard anything else about him. I never knew he was in prison, its a shame how he ended up.

I wish he went on with his movie career. He had the gigolo looks (minus the mustache) and natural talent, and could have easily given fellow-athletes-turned-actors Chuck Norris, Dolph Lundgren and even Schwarzenegger a run for their money.

In fact, I thought he was the best adversary to Rocky, better than Carl Williams and much more credible than Mr. T and Lundrgren.

...Size had nothing to do with it and if you ask Pinklon Thomas or Razor Ruddock they will tell you he hit harder than Tyson. He had stamina issues ala Wlad(possibly) and a very suspect chin. He did get off the canvas on many occasions to take fights but his chin failed him too often. He seemed too tight on certain occasions and on others he had it all together. Foreman hit him with a a few clean shots and he took em well. He was absolutely crushing Mercer when he got caught. If he had gone on to take out Mercer in that fight it would have changed his whole destiny. Unfortunately for Morrison fans he ran out of gas and had nothing left when Mercer landed that shot.

watching that movie again the other day kinda makes me laugh seeing the figure in their made after Don King, who in the movie promised Tommy Gunn lots of money, but just used him up

Two Things: Yes Tommy Morrison had talent, but the most common thing in the world is just that itself, wasted talent. Second, I remember Tommy Morrison admitting in an interview that he got HIV from sharing a needle with someone when he was using steroids. Even though I thought the article was very intresting, I have always been intriqued by his career (though I'm not exactly sure why) I wish him well in the future and hope he lives the rest of his life in comfort.

Does anyone know where i can get a mpeg or wmv of the morrison/mercer bout?? i remember seeing the highlights a looooooooooong time ago, but would like to view the clip. can't find it anywhere on google.
