I agree in theory, but in practice you get situations like with Rigo, where even a purse bid order might not help, because either the mando doesnt want it, or Rigos side doesnt have the capability to win the bid and follow through. Its a mess, no doubt.......
But there really is no valid reason though that Caribe cant make a fight with someone in the top 15. Its either because Rigo wants 500k (or more) and the money just isnt there, or Caribe cant actually stage an event on their own. They could however win the bid, pay for the fight, and give/sell it to the japanese market in the meantime to keep their guy busy and relevant......
Either way, I also don't see a valid reason for the WBO not to issue a mandatory. It seems ****** to me to strip a fighter for inactivity while completely ignoring their own system to prevent fighters from being inactive. Sure, the system isn't perfect, but for them not to try it is ridiculous.
The worst part of this is that Rigo has two belts, and the WBA isn't giving Rigo a mandatory either. The one benefit of having more than one belt is that it makes fighters less likely to duck you, but if both if both sanctioning bodies are ignoring their mandatory system, what's the point?Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 10-07-2015, 11:31 PM.Comment

I think this is a good thing because hopefully Rigo will get his @ss in gear and get back in the ring again soon. A fighter of such high calibre should be showcasing his skills for the world to see. He's not getting any younger either, with only 15 fights and already 35 y/o. Get your @ss back in the ring Rigo.Comment
