Or an attempt to make a new champion that's actually active. It's been over 10 months since his last defense and there's no sign of his return yet.

It's actually approaching 10 months, and it doesn't look like he's going to fight any time soon.

I took a peek at the WBO rankings at 122, and the no.1 and no.2 are Cesar Juarez and Nonito Donaire respectively (Both TR guys). Could Top Rank be pressuring the WBO to strip Rigo, and then have Donaire fight for the vacant title?

hey they got cotto vs jennings for the vacant wbo 147 title after cotto got KOd by margs and the wbo stripped paul williams, top rank also at one point had 4 of the top 6 147 fighters ranked back when the wbo was in the process of stripping floyd. how did jesse vargas get ranked no6 despite not fighting any ranked ww and being a champ in another division for a separate body sanction, I HAVE NO CLUE but TR has wbo pull.

the wbo could make this simple and just order a mandatory for rigo, which would be donaire....but would they make that rematch ?

Rigo is to blame here he should fight anybody but wants a huge payday. some of these fighters just don't get it sometimes you have to get crap pay to keep the ball rolling

It does appear that TR has significant amount of WBO pull. Keep in mind that WBO was the only sanctioning body that was willing to allow Lomachenko to fight for a title in his 2nd fight.

Also if you take a quick look at the history of fighters that held the WBO belt: Bradley (currently), Rios, Pacquiao, Alvarado, Crawford (currently), Mikey Garcia (The only title he ever held was WBO), Donaire also held WBO, Lomachenko currently holds WBO.

It seems like whenever Arum wants a title from the WBO he can either get it, or at the very least get a title shot.

but Rigo can turn this around by fighting who ever they want him to fight even if he gets a lowball offer he should just fight only way to get the upper hand but he is to dumb to play the game
