Comments Thread For: Groves Open To Working With McCracken, Not Booth

George Groves is not retiring and is already on the look-out for a new coach - including Carl Froch's trainer Rob McCracken.

The super-middleweight admits he "definitely" thought about walking away from boxing - and had not spoken to any media - following his third world-title defeat against Badou Jack in Las Vegas last month.

Groves confirmed that he will no longer be working with trainer Paddy Fitzpatrick following the split-decision loss but in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports News HQ, he revealed he would be happy to work with McCracken.

he needs to throw faster punches, he's slowed down, paddy's not got a clue has he. Rocky would probably lay groves out flat, this is rocky's era now callum smith first

He somehow lost his corkscrew jab, right hand power, left hook, side ways, in and out movement, and was a little negative: all from being cobra'd . Mckracken is a severely underrated trainer, and you have to say that Robs tactics won Froch that second fight. Froch is seen by many as a slow, basic, robotic fighter, who overachieved with what little skill he did have.

McCracken throws up an interesting scenario. He's also an underrated trainer.

I'd love to know what the whole Groves / Booth breakup was about.

After Groves lost to Jack, McCracken was the first guy i thought of that Groves should use as a trainer. That guy is top notch i believe he would bring out the best in Groves. Plus he would train away from home and distractions.

He still hasn't come to terms with being double-cobra'd.

He should just eat humble pie and go back to booth, he punched Froch from pillar to post in the first fight which you can only give Booth credit for as he got him up to that level. He's looked terrible since then even before the KO in the second fight he looked poor so I don't think the KO has affected him as much as people say, I think its been downhill ever since Paddy took over.
