Comments Thread For: Video: Gennady Golovkin, Brian Viloria Putting in Work
Radio Rahim catches up with WBA/IBO champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin to discuss the upcoming unification clash with IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux.
I can't help it but everytime I watch one of these videos I think to myself how awkward it must be the first time you have a room full of press standing in the room watching you do this. My favorite ones are Alvarado and his crazy @ss shadow (street fight) boxing.
He isnt fast, nope. He doesnt need speed, he is not a hit and run, clinch and run,
He is a aggressive fighter who can take your power away. He can throw multiple power shots without losing balance at all, not for a split second. Many fighters are off balance throwing hard, but GGG often switches stance in middle of combo.
He uses jab and shoulder to redirect opponents shots, so they either miss or hit with a fraction of the intended power.
Its quite impressive, because when he does it, its when he ofttimes lands those shots that really hurt his opponents.

GGG is not known for speed, it isn't part of his style.
And doesn't need to be, because he makes use of every shot.
He throws with power, and stays on balance by switching stances, and using footwork.
Although he isn't real slow, he is more about using his technique to devastate his opponent.
Watch the video linked below, it goes a long way towards clearing up what so many seem to fail to see.
But quick to vacate a dang MW lineal title. Man, when two supposedly great fighters are largely viewed as they are gonna vacate a lineal title to not face a guy, at some point it has to become obviously.
No one vacates a lineal title lightly.
Another loss for Canelo shatters this thing he has built up (by draining himself to fight JR. MW mind you).
I wonder, if the MW division is so bad, then why does Canelo seem so reluctant to move into it. He is a rehydrated at 175 fighter.
