Maidana would not fight in the same way and that's why I have Lucas winning. It's my opinion and neither of us can PROVE either of our opinions so its all speculation. Also we have no idea how Chino will be coming back after gaining 100lbs. Also common opponents Alexander and Corley say Matthysse hit harder. Lucas dropped Corley 9 times (mainly body shots which Chino doesnt like) and stopped him. He went the distance with Chino.

Maidana has come up big several times already, like his upset wins over Ortiz and Broner and his close effort Mayweather, as well as his close war with Khan.

Matthysse on the other hand, has come up short, even in his favorite role against DSG. Matthysse was favored to win inside the distance vs Garcia on the odds. He was also favored to win inside the distance against Postol. He always comes up short.

With that said, you can't take away his wins over Soto, Provodnikov and Peterson. And still a fight between Maidana and Matthysse would be interesting but obviously Maidana would be favored to win, possibly by TKO at this point ever since the Garcia, Molina and Postol knock downs, Matthysse looks much more vulnerable now.

Maidana is an A-level fighter; Matthysse is not.

The Khan knockdown, that would have finished most fighters. Khan is fast, he went to the head and down to the body quick. Perfect punch, but Chino almost won the fight, Khan was running late. The only reason he didn't get the stoppage is Chino never fully recovered from the body shot.
