    Open Discussion: Jorge Arce

He is easily one of the most exciting fighters in the sport today

He was telling ALvarez during the fight that his girlfriend hits harder than him.

Anyway. What's next for Arce? He looks sick during weighins and I

dont think he is even at his best at this weight. I heard he was

going to move up. Who should he go after? Whats the highest weight

that he could be competitive in? Could ARce be competitive in a

fight with a bigger man such as RAfael Marquez? personally I

think Marquez would hit too hard for arce but that would be a

    amazing matchup

He's a flat out character and a serious asset to the sport.

One thing I've noticed however....is that he looks like he struggles to make Flyweight.

I'm convinced that he should move up in weight and challenge some of the bigger name fighters.

Sure...you'll recieve a couple of Vic Darchinyan fans that believe he is deserving of a PPV fight with Arce (who has suddenly became a PPV sensation), but for the sake of topic discussion let's discuss what is in Arce's best interest.

That would be a future slugfest with Rafael Marquez at Bantamweight. Lets just cut to the chase please, everyone want's to see that fight.

That would give Rafa a shot to become a PPV attraction and would definitely give Arce the chance to gain some ground when it comes to his ranking on a P4P scale.

Oldgringo made a very interesting thread a couple of days back where he discussed what Arce could possibly do to gain the ground I'm talking about.

Bigger names, more exposure, and an expanded fanbase is key.

Yes....you are correct Zab. Rafa is the man he needs to fight.

Arce makes me laugh, the guy is a little crazy in a good way. I think he should moved up, because at the weighin he looked like a person that haven't eaten in 2 weeks, he really looked sick.

Gunstar seemed to answer that question immediately preceding the time you asked it.

He really needs to move up in weight. I'm 100% convinced he's not healthy come weigh-in time.

He's too frail looking, his face is thin, which may or may not be a sign of him dehydrating himself to the extreme:

It's time to jump all the way up to Bantamweight. It's not that big a leap, and Rafael Marquez is by no means struggling to make his weight. He's fought there for ages and is very comfortable in my opinion.

Oh and Edit: Zab Super Judah's new avatar is just ****ing cool.

Can't agree more with you. That **** is not healthy & eventually will hurt him in the long run. No fighter should look like that, just to make weight.

                    And just another thought:

Arce would stand a better shot against Rafa than most of you think. Marquez is ripe for an upset, and a collision type fighter such as Arce might be the guy to pull it off.

I do realize who Rafa is, and am fully aware of his credentials and have seen him fight multiple times. He's also dealing with a guy who is a flat out monster like he is.

FOTY candidate and easy choice for a fan friendly fight.
