Joe Calzaghe would have absolutely wiped the floor with Froch, no KO but wide UD win I don't think Froch could score a knock down he is too predictable.

But it's true, look at the facts. Nobody knew Carl Froch enough to make it a big fight. He would have been considered just another opponent because he hadn't earned any form of reputation yet, simple as that. Froch's prime and fame came after Calzaghe.

It might have been a good fight and Carl was still good but the absolute fact is that up until then he had only fought Domestic level. Nothing that came after that can change that fact.

He had fought Robin Reid at the time and you can't tell me domestically no one knew who Reid was ..Matter of fact look at some of the guys Joe defended his belt against ..Being the number 1 mandatory may not be the most r cognizable to casuals but to die hard fans I'm sure they knew who Froch was and he made a big enough stink about getting a crack at Joe is all I'm saying .I know Calzaghe offered him the fight but do you know exactly when ? What I meant that he could have been his Tarver I meant the way he went about chasing him.And could have upset him like Tarver did with Roy that's all ..

Timing beats speed every time you never know what could,have happened I never seen Joe wipe,out anyone that was elite .Froch is an elite operator ..

There was no way to really time Joe as he had very acute reflexes and an extremely high work rate with just about unlimited stamina.

To me Kessler was elite and even beat Froch the first meeting when it mattered most.
