Very sad. Condolences. But hospitals always reduce the bill massively based on ability to pay and charity care. So no way they have anywhere near 300k medical bills, but still very sad.

It's his niece not daughter I think he would chip in but not pay off whole thing himself medical bills itself exceeds over 300k plus funeral costs I donated hundred bucks last I saw they raised like 21k
