It's a little bit differently for boxing though!

For example, even though Bernard Hopkins started his career in the late 80's I would consider him of the same generation of Pacquiao and Mayweather! And staying with that point, I believe that Hopkins is the greatest fighter of their generation, just edging Pacquiao, with Mayweather 3rd!

How can Manny be fighter of the decade when he lost to a past prime Erik Morales, never beat Marquez(his greatest rival, decisively)?

Mayweather had one close fight the entire decade and set the matter straight by clearly beating Jose Luis Castillo in the rematch.

Fighters of the era, but your post indicates fighters of the decade?

Pacquiao could be fighter of the decade, but for the era it's Floyd.
