Obviously someone besides myself thought it was offensive so that makes it offensive. Whenever you point to a race, nationality, or color and say something that is not positive, then it is a racial remark. You could have said "people" instead of blacks - so your remark was against blacks.

I didn't say "people" because my observation was linked to "black people". If you take offense to a pair of flip flops being connected to a black person, then you need to reevaluate your priorities and values in life.
