Comments Thread For: Fortuna Eyes Gamboa Clash, Uchiyama in America

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing is looking to secure a major fight for Javier Fortuna (29-0-1, 21KOs), who holds the WBA's "regular" super featherweight world title.

Fortuna was in action on Tuesday night at the Palms in Las Vegas, where he busted up Olympian Carlos Velasquez for an eleventh round stoppage win in the headline bout of a Premier Boxing Champions televised card on Fox Sports 1.

it would settle uchi has fought in japan his entire life and nobody cares for his resume...javier is by far his best competition and a biggest challenge..

and even if u dont agree, you must agree that a trip to japan is career suicide...they dont judge the fight they flat out take it from you..

BS...uchi couldnt find any kind of good sparring for javier...none wat so ever..he's never seen anything like it and he's very basic...i'm sure javier would see everything he does coming before hand.

uchi's only chance is tht javie's face starts to bust up from headbutts and he cant see...

javie is not active and confident he's not losing any time soon...
i'd love to see them go for javie vs martinez, pedraza seems more makeable

The Stub Hub is a nice neutral site for a Dominican and a Japanese champion! Make it happen!

he's not coming over here..and the wba cant force him..he's the super champ..and the rumblin is that that belt means its yours until u lose it and u dont have to defend it vs any set contender
