Yeah I saw those rumours but it never got officially announced, maybe they had a change of plan or something? If Provo beat Imam he would become mandatory for the Matthysse vs Postol winner, so he could get that Lucas rematch if Lucas wins this weekend. I'm probably reaching though.

Awful matchup for Provodnikov. Imam would outbox, out punch and do some serious damage on this guy. It's a good fight for Amir and Ruslan would look good on his resume, but awful fight for the Russian. Provodnikov should rematch Herrera

Probably Emmanuel Taylor or Thomas Dulorme. I was gonna say Hank Lundy but he fights next month.

Those are good shouts. Dulorme turned down Provodnikov though, so he's probably looking a few tune up fights. Imam would do bad things to him.

A Taylor fight be be good though. He's been in there with Algieri, Broner and Orozco so it'd be interesting to see Imam does compared to those guys. I'd pick him to stop Taylor.

Make it happen that is a good fight! Watching Imam vs Walter Castillo who brings that relentless pressure and vicious Power as well I think Imam takes care of Provonikov fairly easy but Ruslan always has a punchers chance all it takes it one good shot to turn the fight around

If Banner Promotions is smart they need to give Ruslan like 2 winnable fights to impress and then let him step up again. He is currently 2-3 in his last 5 Fights so why not put him in with a good stylistic match up then get him a big fight

That's a very good matchup. Almost too good to be true.

Imam should be able to use his length to win but he seems a bit open and chinny so Provodnikov would be a real test.

Damn if that happens Imam's got some serious cojones. I doubt it though, although Amir would take the fight his promotional company would be crazy to risk throwing him in with Ruslan. He very well may win but may also eat some leather. And surely fighting back to back big punchers can't be good for your health.
