  • GGG's resume is light, but how he takes out the second class fighters matters, and

So does who won't fight him.

If GGG was such a bad fighter, Cotto, Canelo, Mayweather, Etc would be falling over themselves to take his zero and be the guy who beats the so-called hype job.

But even though Cotto is MW champ, Canelo is bigger than GGG, neither seem to want to fight him.

Canelo seems to want to wait until GGG starts losing something.

I'm mean really, the great Canelo and Cotto are willing to vacate a belt because they have to fight someone who ISNT GOOD.

Tell me how that makes sense. These fighters know something.

You obviously are ashamed of his resume yourself if you have to do that.

I don't rate someone P4P based on the perpetuated myth that no one will fight them.

Same thing happened with Paul Williams. Everyone rated that guy so highly based off the hype of people being scared of him. I knew he'd get exposed when he started facing better competition.

Williams at least took risks unlike Golovkin whose people are more than content to play it safe.
GGG isn't just going off of beating bad fighters, it's how he beat the same guys that others didn't just walk through.

It's his rep in the gym, sparring, what he has shown he can do.

Like I said, fighters don't take vacating a Super Belt lightly, and it looks likely both would do that rather than face GGG.

Why vacate if GGG isn't good!

And the bold is ******ed. P4P has nothing to do with head-to-head.

Legacy-wise so far, Canelo > Golovkin.

    Divisional supremacy, Golovkin > Canelo.....

..... except, that is only because of Mayweather. If Mayweather had retired without campaigning at JMW then Canelo may have been just as dominant..... especially considering the fact that he fought everyone including all of the world-class opponents, and Golovkin has not.
Canelo is scared to get in the ring with GGG, and Goldenboy is scared to put him there.

It's not because they think GGG may get lucky. It's because he is good.

Canelo will soon be the lineal MW champ. To vacate a title like that, one needs a good reason.

They are already making excuses to not fight GGG.

Resume - If beating Martin Murray gets you on the P4P list, then you must have very low standards.

Skill - Knocking out a bunch of no hopers isn't all that impressive to me. It shows he can punch, it doesn't show any great level of skill.
He has beaten everybody who has had the balls to face him in the ring....cotto has side stepped him and canelo is delaying him....who has cotto and canelo beaten lately......cotto chose a weight drained geale and injury savaged Martinez....the reason why he is pound for pound is because he bests any middleweight I the top 10.... So if cotto or canelo are on the list golovkn should be on it......golovkin won't get beaten as a middleweight for a long time

Golovkin fought Geale who'd lost to Darren Barker.....lol I mean really that's literally one of his top 2 wins.

          Darren Barker's leftovers.

          • It seems like when a fighter loses, they often decide that either the fight didn't count or that the other guy was one of the best ever.

Froch talks about Ward the way Malignaggi talks about Cotto

" how he takes out the second class fighters " and " who won't fight him "..... is not genuine P4P criteria imho.

I kinda have to agree with that, unfortunately.

I detect a little bit of that.

You need to learn how to read mongo....Martinez faced murray...Sergio Martinez should have lost the title that night ..Murray dropped Martinez 2 times and hurt him several times.....martinez was top 3 p4p at the time even though I never rated him highly ....Murray then faced golovkin and (read carefully) was butchered.....I'm not claiming Murray is a great fighter ...my list is because he is he best in that division.....he beats cotto and canelo all day long....now legacy wise for canelo...who exactly has canelo beaten......u mean a 40 year old Mosley ....or losing to mayweather every round and a controversial win over Lara .....or an inactive Kirkland....or maybe a joseito Lopez..that's hardly a sugar ray Leonard legacy lol...GTFOH p4p list my ass.....p4p for me means...who dominates his division...who wins his fights the most commanding and most likely will rule his division for many years...if it went on past accolades then Roy Jones and bernard Hopkins would be in the list of p4p 10..... Golovkin will beat every fighter at 169 period
