Rapid aging and fading in the ring is a sad story for far too many world-class boxers when they meet their Father Time, while still pretending to have something left in the tank. It’s twice as sad for one who was once an elite fighter, maybe even a king of his weight class (or at least near the very top of it).
Another pugilist, who learned this lesson a painful way, was former IBF super flyweight champion Dmitry “Baby” Kirillov (31-7-1, 10 KOs), who was knocked out in eight by rising Ural prospect Evgueny “Happy Gilmore” Chuprakov (14-0, 8 KOs).
