    funny one as both are master defensive boxers in there own right... i think toney had more skill , but hopkins was a better athlete with better cardio ... i think time plays a big factor in this fight , anytime before 1999 ish id favour toney for sure , after that id lean towards hopkins , but the toney that showed up against jirov in 2003 and holyfield is still a beast , bhop showed hardly any power at 175 where as tonys power held up at cruiser weight , put it this way if they fought i wouldnt bet either way lol

      There's no dirty trick Nard could pull on Toney that Toney wouldn't counter. James had the better chin, harder punch, higher volume. Toney all day.

        I'd go with Toney, but James Toney is probably my favourite fighter ever. So I'm partial.

          I would bet on Hopkins without a doubt. Hopkins is very consistent and always in top condition. He is a cool customer full of tricks and as smart as they come. He held the middleweight tittle from age 30 to age 40 with 20 successful defenses. How long did Toney ever hold any world title. Never for ten years and 20 defenses, that's for sure.
