  • Did fighters of the 80s, 80s and 90s use PEDS?

When you look at fighters from the 40-50s and fighters of today, the difference in physique wasn't all that big, they also showed signs of wearing down late in fights just like fighters of today (granted they fought longer), but when u compare these to fighters of the 70s, 80s and 90s, everything looks totally different in my eyes, the physique of fighters of the 80s looked like those of cartoon characters, I don't wanna say any names in specific so that fanboys don't flood the thread with childish stuff.

The question is, did u guys also notice that difference or is it just me that fighters of the 80s and 90s looked better physically and had a better stamina and probably more power on average than fighters from the past and also fighters of today? it's understandable that they would be stronger and better physically than fighters before them, but what about the current fighters who all look like they're in poorer shape than the ones in the 80s?

From What I know, drugs testing at the time wasn't as advanced as it is now and a lot of people in different sports were also doping, is there a high probability that these guys were on PEDs that would be banned today?

Yes, the same Anthony Joshua uses, only testing was less stringent and more difficult to cover up back then. Modern sciences, gotta love em.

The 80's was such a great decade that they had to split it into two.

The guy in your sig with the veins popping out out of his nostrils looks like he fought in the 80's.

Steroids in every sport where a lot more common back in the 80s and early 90s where pretty much anyone could get away with using anabola steroids. 80s was the decade of anabola. Very few athletes got caught. Ben Johnson was the most famous one.

I think its pretty much certain.

You only need to look at the parallels in Athletics to see the near impossible records (if you're clean) that were set back then. As well as the East European doping programmes that went on.

Of course they did! Why wouldn't they? Drug testing was a joke.

Mike Tyson talked about how he used to cheat the drug tests all the time in the 90s because he was using marijuana and *******. You think he wasn't using some other **** if he knew he could use whatever he wanted and easily cheat the test? You think other guys didn't have guys like Victor Conte and BALCO behind them, providing them with designer steroids and instructing them how to not get caught? Of course guys were juicing.

there's a book out there that talks about something roberto duran got to make wieght for the second leonard fight.

"something they gave to horses" was the wording, IIRC. they've been giving horses hormones and other PEDS for far longer than they've been giving them to men.

i don't think it's nearly the science today that it used to be, but i'm sure there were plenty of guys on something.

if you recall, the "steroid era" in baseball was the 90's and early 2000's. guys were knocking the f#cking cover off of baseballs.
