Comments Thread For: Hearn: Frampton Wants Neutral Venue For Quigg Bout

Eddie Hearn has revealed that Carl Frampton has requested a 'neutral venue' for a possible fight with Scott Quigg.

There have been positive talks about a domestic clash between the two super-bantamweight world champions and promoter Hearn this week raised fresh hope that the bout could be staged in 2016.

But the fighters still have to agree a number of sticking points, including a possible location for a bout between Bury man Quigg and Belfast's Frampton.

this should be easy to sort out. O2 in London in February with AJ's next massive PPV. if it's a great fight, rematch outdoors in the summer.

Frampton-Quigg is a PPV fight in the UK without Joshua being involved.

Quigg should just fight him in Belfast. I'm a Quigg fan, but Frampton is the legit world champion and the ball is in his court.

If Quigg is that confident in beating him, do it, then he becomes the A side.

I'm thinking about Sky's PPV model of one every 6-8 weeks. they are trying to promote Joshua as PPV already but he doesn't justify it on his own at this point. Therefore if they have one PPV slot for early next year - and have already said AJ will be back out in February - it makes sense to do the Frampton/Quigg fight at the O2 on the same card.

Yeah fair enough. I'd buy it if it happens.

What do they consider a neutral venue? One outside of Manchester or the entire country?

I don't know, that's what I'm wondering too. Could that mean the United States (since Frampton is with Haymon) ? That would be horrible for fan atmosphere for the event.

That was my fear, that Haymon wants it in the USA. But i doubt Hearn would be on board for that as it would stand to lose him money if it's outside of the UK.

If they mean outside of England then have it in Cardiff. If not then the O2 would be superb as i could go

Manchester would be pretty neutral seeing as Quigg doesn't even have any fans there either.

I think Carl wants it in London. Though wherever it is, he'll have the majority of the crowd support. Not a chance that it's in the states, lose all that PPV money.
