That's the right attitude to have, winning is priority. You don't get paid any more for being entertaining.

Eh, he didn't say that at all.

        This was his quote:

"No I don't feel any pressure. I am happy that many people think that is one of the best fights of the year. Ultimately the fans will be the ones to decide how good this fight is. I am going to come prepared to win a title," Matthysse told BoxingScene.com.
Which is typical low key Matthysse. I don't know how you take that and turn it into not focused on giving a FOTY display.

That's the right way to look at it for Lucas. He doesn't want to turn into a Ruslan type.

That's right, Matthysse knows what's up. This is your job, maximize your chances to keep it and keep getting higher pay checks. Don't be ******.

              Whats with all this f@qq3tory,

estrogen levels are going through the roof in this thread,

if you like watching people dancing around, go watch figure skating, this is boxing, HIT and dont get HIT. Mad3rfoker this is WAR.

Manginas are steadily going neuter the sport for the real men who want to see a fight.

Men are turning into straight up b!tches these days.

if every fight was fought in a vacuum that would be true but there is a multiplier effect that gets fighters paid more. for example if ggg and kovalev had won all their fights in boring clinching fashion the networks wouldn't have been interested and they would be making a lot less since no one would want to watch them. fighters from abroad have to not only be good but be entertaining at the same time in order to make money. some fighters from the usa don't have to be either but they just lucked out and had a pre established fan base that they could be marketed to. this fan base will even defend how boring they are and say things like you don't get paid more for being entertaining while watching a sport that's designed to entertain fans.

a guy like floyd has a fan base that doesn't care if he's entertaining or not. matthysse doesn't have that luxury. the way matthysse gets higher paychecks is yes he has to win but he also has to be entertaining. juts winning isn't good enough. look at rigo.

Postol isn't that good, he is just tall. I expect Matthysse to beat him on every front and finally become a "champion". lol
