Wilder is a warrior, he lets opponents hit him (just like ggg)

Easily the most athletic performance by a HW champ in years

wilder and ggg have a lot in common come to think about it. abc paper title, 30ish and never fought anybody of note, completely overrated and fighting cab drivers.

          • I was disappointed again. Wilder is officially a joke now. He should have tried really hard this time to look good, since he looked like crap in his last fight. The bottom line is, he can't look good. He's just not that good. He won't even make it to Wlad if he fights Povetkin first. If he does, Wlad will surely destroy him. I went to bed in the middle of the tenth. Sounds like the ending wasn't that great anyway.

Remains to be seen. Floyd Mayweather pulls straight back ALOT but I never seen him knocked out. In fact, his trade mark pull counter requires him to do exactly that (though 'sometimes' he'll shift his head slightly to the left..sometimes).

Anyway, point is, it's only amateurish if you don't have the speed/agility/reaction time/timing/IQ/footwork etc etc to make it work, by it I mean anything you do in the ring. May weather often pulls backwards and always ducks to the right, pacquiao lunges and leaps forward off of his toes, Roy Jones junior fought with his hands down 70 percent of the time and may weather also often has both hands down when he sets traps, and finally, many say maidana's looping punches are amateurish.

However, all of them are top class fighters who made those so called amateurish moves work fort them. Point is, everyone is different, height, speed, reaction time etc etc of the fighter should be consider when making such opinions. Maidana tryna do what Roy Jones and May weather does would get nailed, and therefore said act would be amateurish, vice versa if May tried to bull rush opponents with loopy punches all of a sudden.

Wilder always has reach and height advantage and he's faster and more athletic than his opponents, he's also very good at gaging distance. That's why he pulls back the way he does, because he can. And contrary to popular belief, he does know how to make adjustments and box smart when he NEEDS to (stirverne fight) and he doesn't throw random wild flurries. He only goes 'wild' right after hurting is opponent, in that split second when the opponent's faculties are scrambled. If the opponent doesn't go down in the flurry, he resets and reestablishes range and distance, or clenches if he is gassed out after the flurry.

At least, that is what I see from a neutral perspective. I don't think he's a finished product of course but he is far from amateurish. He boxes the way his physical abilities allow him to but he knows how to be defensively responsible against a tough opponent (again, stirvurne fight). I expect him to dominate with the jab and throw off povetkin with his movement similar to how he did to stirvirne, he's already shown he can box cautiously and smartly against dangerous opp. I'd say he is the type that fights to the level of opposition, and he'll always get ignorant criticism as a result, but he won't lose because he'll keep surprising people who really shouldn't be surprised. Wlad is the only one with a fifty and above percent chance of beating him at the moment.

Not to mention wilder is a fighter to be proud of and get behind even more so for americans i mean take some pride
Its not necessarily hate, although for some it is, even then its moreso- put up or shut up, Wilder. The fans are getn impatient with him, seriously. Why all the media hype if hes not gonna show us anything(comp)?? If not step aside so somebody else can get that exposure. It all started with the media hype really..if it wasnt for that nobody would give a damm and they dam sure wouldnt tune in. Honestly, Wilders not really making a case for himself, hes not giving the fans much reason to watch him..hes not fightn the best.

Personally i dont think hes that bad, hes far from the best and hes just so technically flawed logic tells me he wont have the strap too long...depending on his opposition and considering how flexible the WBC is these days, he can defend that strap for yrs against his current opposition level. I just cant help but think Haymons waisting Wilder
                and is completely mismanaging him.

You're too low IQ to catch on to Daggum's sarcasm.

No, to put it into perspective he is just an exciting fighter, kind of reminds me of Michael Grant in his prime. People talking about Klitschko losing to Sanders that was over a DECADE ago and at least Sanders was ranked in the top 10 and I am pretty sure Duhaupas nor Molina are ranked anywhere near there. I wish Deontay the best but if he doesn't work on not backing up with his head straight up, than other top heavyweights will exploit that. I don't think Duhapas was a good opponent to prepare for Sasha, he should have fought Amir Mansour; similar style and height.
Wilder may make the adjustments necessary. He's energetic, exciting... And very much so a thinking fighter offensively believe it or not. Duhapas isn't a world beater but he's a tough customer, and a challenge to get out of there. Wilder could have cruised to a decision without taking the risks that he did, but he wanted the tko and got it. I give him credit for that.

Against a guy like povetkin his game plan will be different, and he has the offensive versatility, physicality, and energy to give anyone a rough time of it. I wouldn't count him out.

Took more risks against the Frenchman.....

Not really a good gauge of how he would perform against someone with more wrinkles in their game..
