GGG has a reputation for a reason. If Cotto, Canelo, Floyd, etc. all thought he was an easy mark, they'd jump in front of each other.

They don't. The only two guy who have really bring nothing, and they'd both depend on running and holding their way to victory.
This pretty much sums it up.

GGG sends a tingle down the spines of boxing fans. If you happen to be a top boxer near 160 (including if you hold a belt at 160), you want to shut him up.

You want to shut up Abel Sanchez. Shut up that fat smiling face on Golovkin and shut up the fans who think he's so great.

But Cotto, Floyd, Canelo give no indication of wanting to fight him. Why?

Because they seriously doubt their chances. They aren't going to shut him up. They're going to get smoked.

Golovkin's smiling face is going to tell the camera:

"Is good. No, is good. I like fight. Heez good. I respect heem. It's good to win fight, use my power, work hard to meet my goals."

No thanks! I'll let...somebody else fight GGG first. Maybe I'll fight him later.

I agree that De La Hoya is praying Lemieux wins to save Canelo. But take something out of him. I'm not sure. Canelo fights a month after GGG, by the time the fight is made between GGG/Canelo, he will be a stronger fighter, proving power isn't what beats him. Monroe had decent speed. No one near 160 can hold GGG all night, hence why they want Ward to do it.

It was De La Hoya that was pushing the Ward fight not long ago saying GGG isn't a big enough fan favorite to get Canelo.

That excuse has been blown away though.

It's funny, because all I read is GGG haters bringing up a LHW, as if GGG a small MW not going up to fight a LHW Ward as his first 168 is bad.

Sometimes I hear Lara brought up, but that guy is fighting on cable. And GGG is mandatory to the guy who beat Lara.

The GGG hate is stunning, because he is exciting to watch.

Physically I meant - Lemieux at the time was kinda chubby, had a lot of baby fat on his face, ..he just looks in much better shape and condition now than he did for that fight. Physically looked better just a fight later against alcine even thought he took the L. Maybe he'll never be ready for GGG, but I'm more comfortable with this version.
