    Is Sammy Vasquez the goods?

Can't say I've seen much of the kid other then the other night and one other fight. I thought he looked super athletic in there.. Kind of reminded me of Kermit Cintron for some reason(don't ask why,he just popped in my head while watching)

Do we think he could be a top level guy at 147? He's a pretty tall kid and looks the part...

    What do you'll think?

Every time I see him fight, I find myself constantly looking for reasons that he isn't, but I'm slowly but surely coming around to the thinking that he may be. I'd love to see him in there with Sadam Ali, someone else who I have similar questions about.

Yeah, he's the goods. He had a real good amateur background, fought guys like Imam and Spence and has looked very good as a pro so far, he's had 20 fights now and is already 29 though, so it's time for him to step up. I'd like to see him in there with Guerrero before the end of the year, then maybe Thurman, Porter or Khan sometime next year.

That's a big jump no? Why not someone like Soto Karass or Lopez..
I think Spence should be fighting Guerrero or someone like Collazo next...

I don't think so, like I said this guy had a great amateur background and has had 20 pro fights, he's not a kid. I would definitely pick him to beat Guerrero no problem. That can be the big 'name' win that gets him bigger fights.

Comparing him to Cintron (who was all athleticism and power) is an insult, this kid actually shows real skills. Whether he ends up being an elite guy remains to be seen, but he's looking great so far. Hope him and Spence can mix it up in the not so distant future to see which guy moves up a level.
