Sounds to me like they're really open to make the fight now

Hey! You see, kathy Duva daughter is a DUVA, like mama like papa, expert LIARS, I mean lawyers.
Team Kovalev thought team Stevenson would've vacate the WBC title, they never had the intention to fight Stevenson when they ask the WBC to become mandatory to Stevenson.
The purpose of this request was to FOOL HBO, so they could secure Kovalev but most likely Kathy Duva's witch butt, for the next 2 years under a solid contract of 4 easy fights per year, even with no home base crowd.
Sooner or later, Kovalev will have to defend some of his titles, which means he’ll have to pass through an unconditional purse bid. Duva & “pervert” sugardaddy Klimas won’t be able to protect their protege for much long, Stevenson is knocking at the door, he wants Kovalev straight up, no time with bull-ish trash talking. Kovalev must stop his media bluffing and start to find a way to defend his WBC diamond belt.

        Interesting !

        Well, good news I suppose.

It is good to hear that there is some type of " loophole " that will allow the fight to happen, but it is disappointing that a loophole needs to exist in order to make a boxing match.

These exclusive TV deals are a cancer.

Team Kovalev need to be responsible for everything they say and do, and in my book responsible = accountable.

Everyone moans about HBO, and yet HBO did not put a gun to Kovalevs head and force him to sign.

Kovalev signed an EXCLUSIVE deal with a TV network, effectively guaranteeing roadblocks in favor of better paydays.

Kovalev signed with HBO knowing that he effectively removed himself from the open market, to gain exposure and better paydays.

So, the current situation is exactly what Kovalev wanted/expected.

wake me when Kov gets back into the purse bid. otherwise, he can fight another no hoper without VADA testing.

Even if this is true and they're all bluffing, if I'm Yvon Michel and Haymon, call their bluff and either send over a offer or have them send a offer and see how this fight can be made. These are not young guys, the longer it takes to make the worse it is for Stevenson because he is Older. It took Mayweather and Pacquiao to randomly run into each other at a Miami Heat Game to make that fight happen. Instead of trading childish insults and calling people "chicken" which is the most Childish insult ever, I would rather them reach out to each other behind closed doors and try to negotiate something and see what it will take to make the fight happen

Well Duva orchestrated the HBO deal clearly because it helps her KEEP a fighter like Kovalev. Main Events is not a big Promotion by any stretch, it is a rather small promotion. Without HBO Deal it would have been a struggle to keep Kovalev happy especially when you see the amount of money Stevenson is getting to fight Nobodies. The HBO deal at least buys her Time I guess.

Signing with HBO Exclusively I don't see where it has its benefits, HBO haven't had an event in awhile now. They have all these fighters and Promoters but don't have the Budget to fit them all in so guys will only fight twice a year because of this. Even Arum said HBO only give fighters 2 Fights a years and correct me if I'm wrong but Kovalev already had his 2 Fights on HBO right? So that means for a 3rd Fight either he has to take a very low salary to squeeze himself into HBO Budget which allegedly is already way over or he would have to do a PPV. So now is a great time to make Kovalev vs Stevenson because he doesn't have any options what so over.

That is a fair call, and a good point.

But like I said, responsible = accountable in my book.

Maybe the fans need to be a bit more reasonable and admit that Kovalevs deal with HBO might be good for Kovalev, but it aint good for boxing..... and you certainly cannot blame Stevenson for Kovalevs decisions.

This situation, is exactly what Team Kovalev wanted/expected.

"Most people believe it's his punching power that makes him great," said Michel (20 of Stevenson's 24 wins have come via knockout).
"But it's way more than that. Adonis is a special fighter. A real special fighter. What's the difference between an excellent fighter and a special fighter? It's his boxing IQ. The way he puts his punches together, the way he analyses opponents, the way adapts himself.
"He is brilliant in adapting and analyzing his opponent and finding his strengths and weaknesses."

If there is one who could testify to what would be a battle between two champions, it's Blake Caparello who currently serves as a training partner in Stevenson, but has also already faced Kovalev. He had also knocked him down before admitting his defeat by technical K.-O.

"It would be a hell of a fight! Everyone wants to see it, even me. I can not tell you who would win. Both boxers hits excessively hard and they are very fast. We do not give credit to Adonis much often, which is very difficult to hit.

"Adonis tends excellent traps for his opponents, he is very intelligent in the ring. As for Kovalev, his reach is quite longer than we might think, it's surprising. So it's hard for me to say who would win. It could be paid on the first punch, who knows? But there is one thing I notice, both have the attitude and act with the confidence of a champion in the ring.
